Kid Rock: "Bitch Slap, Pow"

Remember the VMA punching that took place while Alicia Keys was performing? It involved two rockers fighting over sour grapes - sorry, erase that, I mean Pamela Anderson, and from what we could all see, it was Kid Rock who managed two score two hits (a backhand slap and a punch, actually) on Tommy Lee before security stepped in and broke them apart. To add insult to injury, Tommy Lee was immediately thrown out of the hall while Kid Rock was allowed to stay - although admittedly he was also questioned by police the following day.

But since neither of these two alpha males (kidding) wants to emerge from the after-brawl with a tarnished reputation, they both tried to explain (via Internet or interview) that the other guy sucked and that they were totally right in doing what they did - namely, get punch and get punched. After Tommy Lee posted some jumbled-up rant on his personal page, it's Kid Rock (or Kid Pebble, as Lee referred to him - and you have to admit, it's almost funny) interview time.

"Did you see my blog?" he asked when being interviewed by a San Diego radio station yesterday. "You know why (not)? Cause I don't talk. And he's doing what he does best, he's talking. I mean this is what stars all seem to be doing. And I really can't say a lot about it, my attorneys told me not to obviously, but I think there's enough eyewitnesses there to say what happened and of course he has a different story which makes perfect sense". At this point. I think we're all officially confused. Tommy Lee is a star? Someone, check my vital signs, quick. And if Kid Rock agrees that Lee's story makes perfect sense, why is he still talking about what happened on Sunday? Oh, wait - I think I got it - I think he was trying to be witty...or was he?

When asked about how the fight came about, however, Kid Rock seems to lose the point of the conversation completely - but doesn't forget to slip as many insults at Tommy Lee as he can. Just see if you can make any sense out of this long rant.

"To even be in the same room it's kinda like, I was trying to figure out why is this whatever, 45 year old man, who's not involved with the show, who doesn't have an album coming out, who has nothing to promote, even sitting through this garbage. (...) I don't want any part of it, but you know it's part of something you do, so I'm trying to figure out what this guy's doing there, so whatever, I like that let that go. And then when I came back from the bathroom he's pretty much sitting in my seat, I'm like that's it. He's sitting right next to it, yeah". When asked what happened next, the reply is a lot shorter. "Bitch Slap, Pow".

Yes, it's all very grown up and makes just as much sense as Britney going through her dance routine. It just doesn't add up. And it makes us sort of agree with Kid Rock - their business is music, they're musicians and they should stick to doing what they do and know best, instead of arguing like horny teenagers in plain view of the world. But I guess just one glance and kiss from Pam is worth all this trouble, isn't it? At least I hope it is.
