Science fiction technology is closer than you might think

It so happens that boneless robots (not that robots even have bones in the strictest sense, but still) aren't the only leap towards the future, not with the Kickstarter project up and running.

The Kickstarter project that engineer, inventor and entrepreneur Jason Giddings has set up is called Multi-Touch Keyboard and Mouse.

You'd think we'd seen and heard all about that before, but then you notice the pictures and you realize that yes, we did see that before, but not in real life.

The man is developing completely transparent keyboards and mice (well, the latter is more of a trackpad really).

Basically, the items are just panes of glass reliant on the light's interaction with a camera.

When a finger touches the 'key' on the glass panel, the camera below informs the PC which key that was. The same goes for gestures and the like.

Sure, this takes away the tactile feedback from interacting with the PC, but touch interfaces already do that and are liked by people well enough.
