14 DAY TRIAL // Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are one foot in the grave as a married couple, the latest reports in the glossies suggest. After months of fighting and after an even longer time trying to conceive, Lamar is moving to end his marriage to Khloe.
The news comes from the latest print issue of Star magazine, which will be out on newsstands today.
On its cover (see photo attached to this article), the mag claims Lamar has had enough and wants out. Khloe too may be thinking that the time has come to pull the plug on the marriage.
“Khloe & Lamar, the $67 million [€51.2 million] divorce!” Star writes on the cover, promising inside all the juicy details on the events leading up to the split.
“The drunken fight that finally tore them apart. Lamar snaps: ‘You can’t give me kids!’ Khloe doesn’t know Lamar has met with lawyers,” the cover also reads.
“He wants to be sure he’s protected because he knows the Kardashians will try to fight for a chunk of his fortune. He’d rather just serve her with papers and be done. As opposed to telling her the truth and having her freak out,” an insider is quoted as saying, inside the magazine (quotes via Jezebel and Hollywood Life).
The Kardashians have a reputation for being fiercely protective of their fortune, which makes perfect sense, considering that they are the highest earning family in television right now.
Lamar seems to live under the impression that, by simply serving Khloe with the divorce papers (assuming any of the above is accurate, of course) he would somehow be protected against any future claim on his money.
However, reports online suggest that he and Khloe did sign a prenup before tying the knot so it’s not like he has to worry she will get a cent of the money he made prior to that.
Not being able to get pregnant is also playing a major part in the couple’s marital issues, says the same report.
“Lamar would love to have more kids. He’s just not sure he wants them with Khloe,” the insider explains.
It’s worthy to note that, ever since the two married after the briefest of courtships, they’ve been plagued by divorce rumors, with voices saying either kids (or their absence, more like it) or money are tearing them apart.
So far, they’ve been putting up a very united front against all this.
