He’s been doing heavy recreational drugs for the past 2 years, sources reveal

Lamar Odom has been doing heavy recreational drugs for the past 2 years and the situation has gotten so “dire” that Khloe and the entire Kardashian family has staged an intervention for him to go to rehab, it has emerged.

This is why their marriage is “in crisis,” TMZ reports, citing unnamed sources close to the couple. However, despite their problems, neither is even considering filing for divorce.

The celebrity publication writes that Lamar first started doing drugs a couple of years ago.

By August last year, things had gotten so bad that Khloe literally had to threaten to get him in rehab. He entered a facility in San Diego, but would say he’d leave so often that Khloe hired a private investigator to keep an eye on him.

As per the report, the PI stood guard outside the facility 24/7. Lamar left after 3 weeks and, for a while, managed to stay clean.

“[He] was able to play well for the Clippers this past season. But when the season was over, sources say Lamar slipped deep back into hardcore recreational drugs,” TMZ writes.

“We're told the situation has become dire. Sources tell us, within the last 2 days, the entire family staged an intervention, trying to convince Lamar to go back to rehab, but he wouldn't have any of it,” the e-zine adds.

Instead, Lamar packed his bags and moved out of the house, into a hotel.

The same insiders say that Khloe is certain Lamar cheated on her, as reports say he did, but that’s the least of her problems right now.

On the same note, she’s not divorcing him because she “is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage,” as one spy puts it.

Even assuming that these unnamed sources are reliable (in the sense that they have proven to be so in the past), there’s one very important detail to consider, as NBC Sports’ Pro Basketball Talk notes: as an NBA player, Lamar Odom is drug tested “up to six times per year.”

He’s aced every one of these tests since 2001.
