14 DAY TRIAL // Today it's being reported that Keyshia Cole, the Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, has been arrested by police following a violent incident which involved another woman in her boyfriend's apartment.
TMZ claims that on September 19 Keyshia was taken into custody by local police forces because of a rumored incident that occurred between her and another woman in the apartment of rapper Birdman, her boyfriend.
Keyshia came to Birdman's home early in the morning, found a woman there, freaked out
As the report goes, Keyshia decided to make an impromptu visit to her boyfriend's apartment at 5 o'clock in the morning. She didn't find Birdman there, but what she did find was another woman. Her identity has not been revealed, but it has been confirmed that Cole went ballistic when confronted with the other woman.
Police says that the singer attacked the mystery woman and the two got into a violent scuffle that left her victim with scratches all over her face. It wasn't long before the police was called on scene and Keyshia was taken into custody.
Police arrested the singer but later released her on bail
She was later arrested and charged with battery and for an outstanding reckless driving warrant. The singer was later released from lockup, with insiders revealing that she left the police at around 12:25 pm. She was allowed to leave after she posted $46,000 (€35,714) bail.
After she was released from jail, Keyshia took to social media to post a series of cryptic messages, most of which indicated that she was heartbroken over the fact that Birdman was cheating on her.
On Instagram, she posted a photo of helself and her dog, which was captioned “Me and my LolaMae!! She knows my [heart].” Later, she added another post in which she condemned all men “‘[N-word] be like WTF I gotta lie for’ and still be lying.”
The singer is scheduled to release her sixth album “Point of No Return” in about three weeks' time, which is why she's been touring the US lately. Her career has been littered with controversies and her latest arrest does only to add to that list.
The singer was rumored to be dating rapper Birdman, who is also the CEO of label Cash Money, but this scandal confirms that there was something between them. Throughout her career, Keyshia has had fallouts with fellow singers Lil' Mo and Gucci Mane.
Her spat with Lil' Mo has been going on for 8 long years and went to a whole new level when Keyshia publicly criticized Beyonce's voice back in 2013.
