If you like brain-tickling games but had enough of chess head-to-head combats, you're probably going to love this. How about replacing the common chessboard with a board that comes with printed hieroglyphs instead of the usual numbers from 1 to 8.

Instead of the traditional chess pieces, you get lasers and Egyptian-themed playing pieces like the Sacred Pharaoh, Obelisk, Pyramid and Djed column. It's actually the first board game that incorporates laser technology.

The pieces are made of plastic and have either 2, 1 or mirrored slides. Here's the gist of the game. You must maneuver the pieces so that when you "fire" the laser from your corner, it bounces around the pieces on the board and ultimately "strikes" and lights up your opponent?s Pharaoh piece. The combination of mirrored surfaces and lasers equate to "firing" in the game. And you have to use the non mirrored pieces to block. Got it? I didn't.

There are a few drawbacks though. If you intently stare at the laser beams, you'll be doomed. Osiris, the Egyptian God of the dead will materialize in front of you and it will tell you to prepare for a ride to another dimension. That is a possibility. Why not? Anyway, one thing is certain: the laser beam can hurt your eyes. Really. Oh, and another one: if you missed your history classes, you're probably going to need a hieroglyphs translator. The Keth Laser game is available from "I want one of those" for 34, 95 UK pounds (plus 3, 95 UK pounds for the delivery).

Here are some features:

- Suitable for two players - Suitable for ages 9+years - Requires 4 X AAA batteries (not included) - Size 37cm x 46 cm
