Country singer Kenny Chesney declared to an American magazine that he will be OK, after he and his wife, Renee Zellweger, decided to seek annulment of their five-month marriage.
"I'm all right. I'm good. There have been better times, but I'll be OK," Chesney told Country Weekly magazine.
Chesney declared Monday in an interview for Country Weekly magazine that one of the reason for his broken marriage was his busy schedule. Kenny confessed he couldn't take care of his wife, because of his successful career, the singer being all the time on the road or recording new songs.
"I hit everything so hard this year," Chesney said. "I had the biggest tour I've ever done, I had a record to finish that was real important to me, and, of course, I had something new in my personal life and I was trying to do that too. It really ended up being too much."
Renee Zellweger, 36, met Kenny Chesney, 37, at a charity concert for tsunami victims, on 15 January 2005, California, where both were invited.
After only a few months of dating, the couple got married in a small ceremony, which took place on the Caribbean island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
But last week, the couple shocked the media, announcing they are seeking for an annulment, after only four months of marriage.
Zellweger cited "fraud" when she filed the divorce papers at Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday. According to the American law, she will have to prove that the country singer misrepresented facts vital to their marriage.
Chesney, named Country Music Association entertainer of the year in November, added: "I'm tired right now, but by next year, I'll be excited to get back to it. And it'll be about the music again, not about the sideshow."
