The day has finally come for Kendrick Lamar. The rapper has made his big debut with the album “good kid, m.A.A.d City,” which is garnering extremely positive reviews.

Lamar is no newcomer to the scene but it’s just now that he’s getting his time in the spotlight, with some help from his mentor Dr. Dre, who is also featured on the deluxe edition track, “Recipe,” which you can also check out above (the clean version).

His first studio album is getting industry heavyweights singing his praise, noting that he might just be the next prince of hip hop and the best lyricist of his generation.

“‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city’ could technically qualify as a feature film by Academy standards, and the album absolutely lives up to that label, with tracks serving as ‘scenes’ to an enveloping story of Lamar’s upbringing in and around his Compton neighborhood,” the LA Times Music blog writes.

Spin points out that “good kid” is so uncompromising of radio demands that it might actually prove a bit taxing to enjoy properly – and, yes, that’s a good thing.

“It's a completely exhausting listen, one that might prove easier to admire than enjoy. But at the very least, it's never anything less than fascinating. A master craftsman should be entitled to some degree of self-indulgence,” the music mag writes.

All in all, a truly amazing experience.
