14 DAY TRIAL // Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett are moving past the cheating scandal that threatened to ruin their marriage, when Hank was publicly shamed in the tabloids for his tryst with transgender model Ava London. Despite all the talk of an imminent divorce, they’re still together, and perhaps more importantly, acting as if nothing even happened.
That’s right: despite all those reports about Kendra being devastated that Hank would betray her like this, she’s not giving up on the marriage just yet. If anything, she seems determined to do whatever is in her power to put the drama behind her.
Over the weekend, Kendra and Hank threw a BBQ party at their home in Calabasas, California, and insiders tell Radar Online that they didn’t show a single sign of marital trouble. If anything, they seemed closer than ever.
“Hank and Kendra had a big BBQ at their house for friends and family. It seems like everything is good and he seemed happy,” a friend of the family reveals for the celebrity e-zine. “He said he’s living at home. Everyone is acting like nothing happened.”
It sure sounds like Kendra has forgiven Hank for his transgression and that she believes him when he says it won’t happen again. Or, another source theorizes, perhaps she’s just doing what she thinks is best for her career right now.
“Kendra’s a really smart girl. She knows how the business works and she knows how to make lemonade out of lemons,” dishes the tipster. Making lemonade out of lemons is fancy-speak for saying she’s staying married to Hank for the money or because she wants to be out of her reality show contract first, to make sure he doesn’t get a cent from her in the divorce.
Then again, hearing that they’re acting normal again, as if the scandal never happened, is like a confirmation of another theory that’s making the rounds, saying there was no scandal to begin with: Hank and Kendra paid Ava to go public with her scandalous-but-not-really-so (because they never slept together) story, which was obviously invented for this particular purpose.
We already know that the “drama” will be featured heavily on the upcoming season of Kendra and Hank’s reality show, so faking a cheating scandal for a ratings boost doesn’t seem that far-fetched. If they really did throw a party together, it could be that they’ve already shot their “reconciliation” episode.
We’ll know more when the reality show returns on TV, but either way, it’s probably safe to bet right now that there is no divorce in the cards for Kendra and Hank at the moment.
