The ensuing scandal paid off big time for both Kendra and Hank, despite what else she might have you believe.
With Kendra barely over promoting season 3 of her and Hank’s reality series Kendra on Top, which, you guessed it, will document their attempts at saving their marriage post-scandal, confirmation comes that they will be doing another reality show as well.
And you thought negative media attention / scandal never pays off.
Kendra and Hank will be on Marriage Boot Camp
E! Online confirms that Kendra and Hank will be trying to work through their issues on the new season of Marriage Boot Camp, aka the same reality show on which Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag will also be airing their dirty laundry, and which qualifies as their comeback to reality television.
Shooting for the new season is supposed to start soon and will last for 2 full weeks, during which time, we’re to believe, Kendra and Hank will see counselors and find out if there’s any saving their relationship after he tried to cheat on her. Or not, because Kendra believes the whole cheating part is a lie.
The bottom line is that these two are getting another show thanks to the drama they might have started themselves, because many are still convinced there wasn’t an ounce of truth to the cheating scandal and that Ava London was on their payroll.
Landing this new gig also explains why Kendra has been so defensive of Hank in recent interviews, and why she didn’t even want to say the D-word. She did, however, admit to the fact that they were having issues – which is super convenient, if you think they’re about to appear on Marriage Boot Camp.
Scandals, a very profitable business these days
Scandals have always been profitable, but never before directly for those involved in them: it was always a third party who made the big bucks off them. With reality stars always looking for new things to include in their “unscripted” shows (which are scripted almost in their entirety, by the way) and for new ways to stay relevant, scandal is becoming a plotline. And a sure way to make a profit.
Kendra and Hank’s case is just one example, but there’s a very worrying trend that hints we should expect more of the same, because that’s where the money is right now.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott did it first, and now, even Honey Boo Boo’s parents, Mama June and Sugar Bear, are suspected of trying to play the cheating angle to make their reality show interesting again.
