14 DAY TRIAL // 2014 was a difficult year for Kendra Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett, who was “caught” cheating on her with a transgender model and the scandal exploded in the press. They eventually managed to come out of it together - and with several gigs on reality television, thanks to the juicy material and their willingness to go into all the details.
2014 was a difficult year for Kendra and Hank if you believe that the cheating scandal was real and not fabricated for publicity purposes. There are several indications that it was so, starting from its timing to the way Kendra changed her story as the months went by and she had something else to sell.
However, the brand new season of WEtv’s Celebrity Marriage Boot Camp, which premieres this Friday, wants us to believe that it was all real, including Kendra’s feud with her mother Patti.
Kendra explodes on Patti, goes full drama queen in new teaser
Also in 2014, as attention on the cheating scandal was dying down, Patti went on Twitter to accuse Kendra of lying about everything just to get more attention and more mileage out of her reality star career. Nasty words were exchanged and their relationship appeared to be broken for good.
Some of that ill feeling was captured on camera for the new season of the aforementioned reality show. For the record, in the meantime, the two have reconciled.
In a new teaser, Kendra and Hank are in a faux wedding setting where they’re to do an experiment to help them better understand what they’re dealing with, as well as what measures they must take to salvage their marriage.
As it happens, this was actually shot after they fully explored the cheating drama on their own reality show, so there wasn’t an actual reason for them to do Marriage Boot Camp. Ironically, after doing a full season on the scandal and plenty of press about it, in the second video below, which is an older teaser for Boot Camp, Kendra says she’s not comfortable with discussing her personal issues in front of so many strangers.
But it’s her mother she reserves the worst for, losing her cool the moment Patti walks in.
“The devil has eaten your soul!”
In a scene worthy of any respectable soap opera or telenovela, Kendra goes off on her mother, accusing her of selling them to the tabloids.
“The devil has eaten your soul!” she yells. “You sell us out to the tabloids! Right after I thought my husband cheated on me, you sell my tears to the damn tabloids. You love the fame. You love this attention!”
She even urges those in the audience to “rise up!” in support of her, because they’re witnessing the worst kind of treatment a mother gives to her daughter.
Patti eventually walks out, but not before accusing Kendra of being insane and out of her mind, and threatening her to release all the texts she’d sent her, in which she called her all kinds of nasty names.
