For a while now, it's been rumored that Kendall Jenner has put an effective ban on her elder and, some would argue, more famous sister Kim Kardashian. The tabloids have speculated that Kendall was afraid of her sister's fame and that she would take away from her own rise in the fashion world, so she decided to have her stay home when she's on the runway.

The policy seems to have paid off for Kendall, who has enjoyed a rapid ascension in the ranks of the fashion industry, sparking some envy from the other models, who were rumored to have mistreated her during some fashion shows.

Kendall comes forward about why she doesn't allow Kim at her fashion shows

Today, for the first time, Kendall reveals the true reason Kim isn't allowed to attend her fashion shows. In an interview with ABC's Nightline, which aired on Monday evening, Kendall is careful to pussyfoot around the problem, “Banned is a strong word – it was more of a mutual understanding,” referring to the banning of her sister.

“I think that if my sister [Kim] was sitting front-row, and my sister is who she is, I know this sounds kind of weird, but it almost would have almost taken the attention away from what I’m trying to do on my own,” Kendall adds, confirming the speculations the media made at the time.

Kendall is also trying to convince people she had done it on her own

Kendall is definitely on her way up, having landed the lucrative job of being the new face of Estee Lauder, but she's trying her hardest to convince people that she's managed to do this all by herself, without the help of her famous family.

While there is no denying that Kendall is very easy on the eyes and that she seems to have taken immediately to the catwalk, there is no denying that her famous name and family played a big role in her fast rise in the industry.

“In reality, I worked pretty hard for this, like running around doing tests. It wasn’t like I just [snaps fingers] got it magically and it’s just happened,” she says, eager to confirm her own hard work in the launch of her new career.

The interviewers also wanted to know if Kendall regretted showing off a lot of skin during that controversial Marc Jacobs runway show in February, during the New York Fashion Week. It turns out that Kendall did not, since she considered that a privilege.

“Who’s going to argue with Marc Jacobs when he’s putting you in an outfit? … I don’t regret it,” Kendall wonders aloud, while, at the same time, ignoring the people calling her an exhibitionist, “They'll get over it.”
