Says that he expects them to react naturally to major plot points

BioShock Infinite might be in the final stages of development but the man leading the team at Irrational Games says that there are parts of the narrative that he is trying to keep hidden even from those who are shaping the game alongside him.

Speaking to the official PlayStation 3 Magazine, Ken Levine, leader of development on BioShock Infinite, talked about how the story of the game is being developed and shared with the other members of the team, saying, “I want to preserve and observe, so I can see their reactions. Keeping people virgins to that content is really important because you never get that reaction from someone a second time.”

He added, “I think a frustration on the team here. I don’t want them to know the game story, and they want a document from me that tells them the whole game story.”

The developers at Irrational have been known for their capacity to create complex and surprising stories ever since System Shock and have confirmed this ability with the first BioShock.

This means that the fan base has high expectations for Infinite and Levine and his team are under a lot of pressure to deliver something extraordinary using the Columbia flying ship setting.

The game will feature two main characters: the detective Booker, who is under the control of the player, and the supernaturally powered Elizabeth, a little girl that accompanies the gamer and interacts with him as the game progresses.

Ken Levine has also said that he is looking to the voice actors behind the two characters for input on how they should behave and react during the course of the game.

BioShock Infinite will appear on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 and is expected to launch before the end of 2012.
