From the looks of things, “Ride Along 2” is shaping up to be better than the original, since it has just been announced that Asian funny-man Ken Jeong agreed to take part in the sequel and add his characteristic humor to the mix.

The news comes from Variety, which claims that it's still unclear what role Jeong will play in the movie, but it is certain that he will be joining Kevin Hart and Ice Cube on screen for the sequel to the cop comedy that managed some impressive numbers at the box office.

The team from the original movie was so impressed with the success of the film that even Tim Story agreed to return to the director's chair and oversee production of the second project. The plot of the movie is said to again focus on security guard Ben Barber, played by Hart, and police officer James Payton, played by Ice Cube.

Olivia Munn is said to also be in talks to join the movie cast, as the script for the film is still undergoing work thanks to Matt Manfredi, who previously worked on “Clash of the Titans,” and Phil Hay. Munn is rumored to be up for the role of Ice Cube's character's love interest.
