In addition to Botox and plasma treatments

Modeling careers are notoriously short, so those few models who do manage to stay working in the industry past the age limit tend to get a lot of media attention. As a rule, many of these models usually credit a very healthy lifestyle and good genes for their age-defying looks and staying power.

But not Robert Paulat, a 35-year-old male model signed with the famous Vanity Fair modeling agency from Europe. He says he’s only made it this far in the industry because he’s not afraid of getting work done, and he’s actually proud of what he’s achieved.

Plastic surgery is worth it

Paulat isn’t ashamed to admit he’s had plenty of work done, estimating he’s had about 43 cosmetic surgeries in total, not including regular Botox and plasma treatments. He’s had his lips redone, but also work on his nose and cheeks, all in a bid to fight the signs of the passing of time and to maintain his wrinkle-free complexion, the Mirror reports.

He’s actually happy to hear people compare him to a living version of the famous Ken doll, the boyfriend of Mattel’s most successful export, Barbie, because it helps him feel happier with his looks. Apparently, he always finds “something to criticize about [his] looks,” and people telling him he looks like Ken is the equivalent of hearing that he’s achieved perfection.

“I am obsessed with idea of raising people’s self-confidence through improving one's appearance,” he continues. “I think that proves I am not narcissistic because there is always something I'm not happy with.”

Paulat started modeling when he was 18, and now at 35, he’s still getting plenty of work, which, as noted above, isn’t really that common in this industry.

He lives in Prague and will continue to get even more surgery done to keep up. After all, even if he thinks he’s achieved perfection, it won’t last.

A never-ending fascination with Ken doll

Paulat isn’t the only man or male model to have developed a genuine obsession with looking like a real-life Ken Doll. The examples of Human Barbies Valeria Lukyanova and Lolita Richi have shown that there’s good money to be had in the telling of a fascinating story about what basically boils down to plastic surgery addiction.

So the men have followed suit. As of now, we have 3 very famous Ken doll men, not including Paulat: Celso Santebanes, Justin Jedlica and Rodrigo Alves, whose surgical transformations are one more extreme than the other.

Compared to these, Paulat is just getting started. Luckily for him, this also means that he can still boast of a (more or less) natural look.
