Kelsey Grammer is jumping on the “Transformers” bandwagon. After Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci signed on for roles on the fourth installment directed by Michael Bay (his last – again! – he promises), Grammer has agreed to the villain part.

Deadline confirms that the actor will play the non-robot bad guy. The part went to Patrick Dempsey in the previous installment.

“I’m told that Grammer will play Harold Attinger, a counter intelligence guy,” Deadline notes.

It also writes that landing such a major role is definitely thanks to his move to a new agency.

Say what you will about the quality of the “Transformers” films but there’s no denying that they pay extremely well, while also ensuring lots of exposure.

“The film begins production in July, from a script by Ehren Kruger. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Ian Bryce, Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy are the producers,” Deadline writes.

Wahlberg takes over from Shia LaBeouf as lead, but Bay assures us that this isn’t a reboot of the trilogy, but a new one.
