Mother and daughter Sharon and Kelly Osbourne were on Piers Morgan’s show on CNN the other day talking about drugs, celebrity doing drugs and ungrateful parents who build their comeback on their children’s career – like Billy Ray Cyrus.

When Billy Ray sat down with GQ magazine to talk about how “Hannah Montana” changed his life and his daughter Miley, and he spoke his mind without restraints, he probably had no idea of the kind of media frenzy he’d generate.

After all, this was Billy Ray biting the hand that fed him, his daughter and his family, it was said at the time.

Kelly and Sharon believe the same: he should have never said that he wanted to take back the last years of his and Miley’s life, so that he could forget about fame, money and media attention.

“I think that’s a really inappropriate thing for someone to say, especially when what they did together gave that person their career back. And it’s not fair to do that to your own child,” Kelly says of Billy Ray’s comments that he should have never let Miley go down the road of fame.

“It’s really inappropriate thing to say,” Kelly stresses.

“I do too. I don’t think he should have done that in print. He may think it. It might be, you know –,” Sharon chimes in, before she’s interrupted by her daughter.

“He might have meant it in a different way. But in black and white, it seems so just harsh, especially because I love Miley,” Kelly says.

When Billy Ray said those things, he basically annulled all the hard work Miley has been doing for years, because she made her entire career about his failure to come to terms with the downsides of fame.

“She’s a dear friend of mine. I know how hard she works. She works so hard. I just think that that discredits everything she’s done in her life, not just for herself, but her whole family. It’s disrespectful,” Kelly adds.

“She made him relevant again,” Kelly adds.

Kelly also spoke to Piers Morgan about her struggle with drug addiction, and how she spent most of her teenage years in her bedroom getting high and wishing she didn’t wake up the next morning – until she realized she needed help, and she got it.
