X Factor judge Kelly Rowland has a killer figure and she knows it. This is precisely why she’s speaking out on the amount of work it takes to look this good: while getting a body like hers is not impossible, it’s not a walk in the park either, so people shouldn’t get the wrong idea.

A while back, Rowland said she started losing weight after realizing that most of the food she was putting into her body wasn’t doing her figure any favors.

She read Gillian McKeith’s “You Are What You Eat” and decided to cut from her diet foods that were doing her more harm than good: sugar was the first to go.

Now, many months later, Kelly is still in top shape but, she says in a new interview in the Mirror, staying trim is perhaps more difficult than losing weight.

“It takes hard work to look like this – and even more work to keep looking like it! I don’t diet but I do follow the 80/20 rule. Most of what I eat is healthy fruit and veg, grilled fish and meat, but 20% is whatever I want,” the singer says.

“Since I’ve been in London I've become a huge fan of the Chinese restaurant Hakkasan in Mayfair, London. I can’t get enough of their duck salad and Tulisa and I just love their cocktails!” Kelly adds.

She works a lot to stay in shape, hitting the gym every other day for at least one hour. She’s so addicted to breaking a sweat out that, in some situations, she may actually choose a late-night workout than a night on the town.

“I work out whenever I feel like it – why should the fact that it’s late at night put me off?” she asks.

“When we were touring around the country, looking for contestants, we would often go back to the hotel and Dermot and my fellow X Factor judge Gary Barlow would head to the bar while I’d go for a workout in the gym!” Kelly dishes.

As noted above, she goes to the gym every other day, where she trains for an hour, if not even more.

“And I practice yoga, which really helps me to tone up. I also go to the gym to do some cardio a couple of times a week. I particularly like the bike and cross-trainer,” Kelly adds.

She also has a trainer teaching her pole dancing.
