14 DAY TRIAL // Grownups love dressing up for Halloween just as much as kids do so, as expected, yesterday was the day when ghouls, witches, zombies, and fake celebrities took over the talk show circuit. Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan would have won a Halloween contest, had there been one to speak of.
Other talk show hosts also brought their A game for the festive show, including Ellen DeGeneres who dressed up as Nicki Minaj and Matt Lauer, who was Pamela Anderson in “Baywatch” and even got to do the slo-mo run in the sand, but no one even held a candle to these two.
Perhaps because they didn’t know which costume to pick, Kelly and Michael just wore them all, as the two photos included with this article and the video below can confirm.
They did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, but also Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke for their 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. Both costumes and impersonations were almost spookily spot-on.
The video below is of a faux-trailer that ran during the show, for “Sharknado Too,” a make-believe sequel for the hilariously bad TV movie from SyFy that is really getting a sequel – but it’s not “Sharknado Too.”
Kelly plays Tara Reid who won’t stop talking, while Michael makes a special appearance as Samuel L. Jackson, who’s totally miffed that there are sharks on the plane, a direct reference to his much-ridiculed action movie “Snakes on a Plane.”
Believe it or not, but these were just a few of the costumes Kelly and Michael wore on the special Halloween show: they also dressed up as the characters on A&E’s hit reality series “Duck Dynasty” and those from the series “Sons of Anarchy.”
“Breaking Bad” ended this year, so the funny duo also paid a tribute to the show, with Kelly donning a Jesse Pinkman costume. She also dressed up as tennis pro Rafael Nadal.
So, as you can see, if this had been a Halloween competition between talk show hosts, Kelly and Michael would have gone home at the end of the day clutching the first prize trophy.
