Kelly Preston’s Secret for Losing the Pregnancy Weight: Don’t Stress About It

In November 2010, actors Kelly Preston and John Travolta welcomed baby boy Benjamin into the world, their third child together. Now, Kelly is already wowing on the red carpet and, she says, she hasn’t even worked out since giving birth.

People magazine spoke to the actress just recently, at a gala meant to honor her husband, and, as expected, complimented her on her amazing figure.

Though she still carries some of the weight she gained while pregnant (see the attached photo), Kelly is definitely looking slimmer and more toned.

Asked about her secret, she reveals that she doesn’t actually have one, except for the golden rule of not stressing about losing weight.

“I haven’t been working out. At all,” she admits with a smile, before adding, “Maybe that’s the secret. Don’t stress about it!”

Of course, that’s not to say that the 48-year-old actress doesn’t know that there will come a time when she will have to go back to the gym to start working on maintaining her figure.

At the same time, she knows she’s lost weight so far because she’s nursing baby Benjamin, so it’s not like she has a wonder of a body that sheds the pounds with her doing anything about it.

I’ve been lucky because I’ve been breastfeeding so that’s really helped me lose the weight. That really is the secret,” Kelly explains.

The reason she hasn’t gone back to the gym yet is that she had a C-section to bring Benjamin into the world and, for the time being, she’s not allowed to strain herself in any way, not even with mild exercises.

“It certainly would be better if I started to exercise, but I had a c-section so my stomach muscles weren’t very strong,” she admits.

“I wanted to do some dance classes but it was a little too much. I was down for the count!” Kelly adds with a smile.
