Kelly Preston Is Now 39 Pounds (17.6Kg) Thinner

One year ago, Kelly Preston and John Travolta became parents to a gorgeous baby boy. Kelly, who was 48 at the time, knew from the start getting back her pre-pregnancy body wouldn't be an easy feat, but she did it either way.

In a new interview with People magazine, the actress gushes about the past year – Ben's first – and how happy she is to be turning 50 very soon.

As for the weight loss, which is quite considerable at 39 pounds (17.6kg), she says it wasn't as hard as she initially thought.

Naturally, getting pregnant at 48 was a very happy occurrence but, Kelly says, after giving birth, she started thinking about how she'd ever manage to drop the extra weight.

“When I got pregnant at 48, I didn't know if my body would bounce back,” says the star.

She thought it would be hard. Today, she's actually slimmer than she was before she became pregnant, so difficult is not exactly the best term to describe her journey back to top shape.

“I lost 39 lbs., have more energy than I had 20 years ago – and I feel amazing. I'm going to be turning 50 next year – holy [expletive]! Hey, 50 is the new 30,” she says.

Being a new mommy, Preston couldn't afford to do anything to risk her health – or her baby's. Luckily, her good friend and fellow Scientologist Kirstie Alley had just the thing for her: a weight loss product called Rescue Me by The Organic Liaison.

“I was so excited when my best friend created Rescue Me,” Kelly says. She's now a spokesperson for the product, described on the official website as the ideal weight loss product that targets cravings and “boosts natural energy.”

“It's pretty much the most genius thing ever,” the actress says for the same media outlet.
