Kelly Osbourne has always been very open about her drug addiction and how she only managed to overcome her demons after several stints in rehab. Now, she speaks more in detail about that, happy she didn’t die like Michael Jackson from an OD.

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan for his “Life Stories,” cited by Teen Hollywood, Kelly reveals at the height of her addiction she was taking as much as 50 pills a day and was hardly able to stand because of it.

As is usually the case, it all started as weekend thing, and then evolved rapidly. Now, Kelly realizes she would have been dead like Michael or Brittany Murphy had she not gone to rehab.

Understandably, she’s very happy she managed to turn her life around in due time, before a tragedy occurred.

“At the start I only took one (pill) every weekend. Then it was one every weekday, then two a day, then three,” Kelly says of her addiction to painkillers.

In almost no time, it became clear that she couldn’t live like this for much longer, as her health took a painful turn for the worse.

“By the end I was taking so many pills I was on my hands and knees vomiting blood because the drug was ripping away my stomach lining,” the reality star reveals.

“I was taking 50 a day, more than twice the legal dosage, and every day I took one more, hoping I wouldn’t wake up,” she adds.

Luckily, she realized (with some help) she needed to go to rehab. If she hadn’t, she would have probably ended like the late King of Pop, who was found dead last summer in a rented home.

“If I hadn’t gone into rehab then, I’m sure I wouldn’t be here now. I feel very lucky because people die every day from taking painkillers like Vicodin, and I was taking much more than them,” Kelly says.

“Michael Jackson, Brittany Murphy – the list goes on. But I got a chance to fix my life,” the reality star adds, naming names.
