Walks out on bail

The media has rarely been kind to the daughter of iconic rocker Ozzy Osbourne and, for once, it seems that Kelly too fought back by lashing out at one journalist who dared call her boyfriend stupid. Although the incident occurred in August last year, it was just now that she was arrested – and subsequently let out on bail until the hearing, scheduled to take place sometime in March.

As noted above, Kelly allegedly lashed out at gossip columnist Zoe Griffin, who taunted her during a party held at the Punk nightclub, a celebrity hotspot, several British media outlets are reporting. Apparently, Griffin provoked the 24-year-old star by telling her that her 19-year-old boyfriend, Luke Worrall, was stupid for not knowing what an earthquake was. When Kelly got to the end of her rope, she jumped at Griffin and slapped him, it has been said in court papers.

The Metropolitan police have just now confirmed that, after a thorough police investigation, Kelly presented herself to a London police station, as appointed, but accompanied by her lawyers. The arrest was made at the beginning of this month, having been confirmed just now.

“We can confirm a 24-year-old woman attended a central London police by appointment on January 2. She was arrested for common assault relating to an alleged incident in Soho in the early hours of 29 August 2008. She has been bailed until a date in March.” a Met spokesperson told the British media, refusing, as customary, to reveal the name of the person in question.

While Kelly has not ceased to profess her love for Luke on several occasions, the August incident was the first time she actually went physical on account of something bad being said about him. “I’ve never been this mushy with anybody ever before, but this time I can’t help it. He’s perfect. Everything about him is brilliant. I’m happy. I love him and I’d do anything for him.” she told Closer magazine in a recent interview.

Whether the columnist allegedly slapped, Zoe Griffin, is also considering of pursuing the case in court to ask for damages or other types of compensation has not yet been made public.
