American model, actress and television personality Kelly Monaco had a very near run-in with a thief a couple of days ago, but escaped unharmed by hiding from him. The burglar broke into her Las Vegas penthouse and roamed about freely searching for valuables, as Monaco hid behind the bed until he was gone, TMZ informs.

“Sources tell TMZ Monaco was asleep in her penthouse at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas around 4:00 AM when she heard an intruder banging around inside the living room. We’re told Kelly hid behind her bed – but the bad guy never tried to get into the bedroom. When the coast was clear, Kelly emerged from her room, saw that her place was trashed, and called [the] police.” the celebrity gossip site / paparazzi agency says.

The police have already confirmed that a burglary report was filed, but have refused to confirm what had been taken from the apartment. Kelly Monaco was in no way injured during the incident – since, as noted above, she did not even get to see the burglar – and is said to have already hired extra security for her entire stay in Vegas. Monaco can now be seen in “Peepshow” with Scary Spice Mel B, which means she won’t be leaving Sin City too soon.

Speaking of burglars, over the weekend, Dolph Lundgren’s house was also broken into, as three masked men forced the entrance and tied up the actor’s wife. As they searched the house for money and jewelry, after Lundgren’s wife refused to tell them where they were, the three thieves saw a picture of the black belt karate and action movie star, and immediately realized none of them could have walked away unharmed from a direct confrontation with him.

The three burglars left the house in a hurry and, as of now, it is not yet known whether they took anything with them. Annette, Dolph’s wife, is said to have requested they move to a safer neighborhood, but the actor convinced her this was just an isolated incident and hired extra security, just in case.
