Kelly Osbourne reached universal fame once her family's reality show took America by storm. Thanks MTV! 'The Osbournes', as I've already mentioned, not only marked Ozzy and Sharon's comeback into the spotlight, but it also represented a vehicle to guaranteed fame for their two children who agreed to star in it, Kelly and Jack. Consequently, after it was pronounced a solid hit, each of the two went their different ways: Kelly into music and Jack into, err..., book-writing!
As some of you might know, Kelly's first album was received with lukewarm reviews, mostly because it was a departure from the mainstream pop. However, her sophomore material bombed so hard that not even the public saw it coming. And this didn't happen only in the US, but also back home in England. Nevertheless, Kelly's reaction to the bomb was natural: it wasn't her fault her album was not appreciated, it was the public's fault for being too prejudiced to see real talent when in the presence of it. Useless to say, you can imagine how this particular comment gave a 'boost' to her music career.
In the meantime, Kelly also went into modeling for a short period of time, being offered a contract after she lost more than 13 kilograms due to a thyroid gland affection. And then, the offers just stopped coming anymore. Until yesterday, that is! The producers of multi award-winning play 'Chicago' have just announced that they finally managed to attach Kelly to the project, for a seven-week run.
According to the press release, Miss Osbourne will star as Mama Morton, the prison matron, in the highly appreciated musical. Her run will start this September, with the possibility of an extension of her contract, if everything goes well. Kelly is the youngest star to tackle this part but, if producers really feel that she'll be able to pull it off, who are we to disagree? After all, we know that she can sing... the only thing still to be seen is whether her acting skills are up for the challenge.
And, speaking of 'Chicago', here is your first look at how Kelly is going to look up on stage... sorta! Do you remember when Hugh Hefner, upon hearing that she wanted to do a 'Playboy' spread, said that there wasn't enough
Photoshop in the world to make her 'Playboy' material. Well, apparently, there is! And the 'Chicago' producers found it: no matter how great these photos look and regardless of what Kelly says (like, that they only retouched her double chin and fatty upper arms), that doesn't change the fact that THIS IS NOT HER! Hot as hell, but definitely not her! Below is a photo of Kelly, taken this week, for the sake of argument.
