Katie Hopkins is dubbed “the most hated woman in Britain” with good reason: if she has something on her mind, she will make sure the entire world finds out what it is on all the platforms she has available. So if she thinks Kelly Clarkson is using her first pregnancy as an excuse to sugarcoat the fact that she’s overweight, she will shout it from the rooftops.

As it so happens, Kelly doesn’t really care what she or any other hater might have to say about her new mom figure.

Hopkins has words for Kelly, isn’t nice about it

You can see Hopkins’ comments on Kelly’s weight in the tweets below: she clearly thinks that the singer is sugarcoating her weight problem by using her pregnancy as an excuse. The problem with that, in her mind, is that Kelly gave birth almost a year ago, which means that she “should” have lost the extra weight.

Again, she clearly believes Kelly should stop trying to hide from the truth: if she doesn’t stop lying to herself, she won’t be able to get back in shape. It’s as simple as that, she seems to say.

Hopkins is the public figure / reality star who, last year, made headlines around the world for gaining weight and then losing it, just to be able to tell all those people out there struggling with the extra pounds that they were “lazy” fatties.

Kelly responds to Hopkins’ jibes, is very gracious

Kelly Clarkson was never your typical pop star, and as such, she was never under pressure to look a certain way. This is why she’s always been very unapologetic about things she doesn’t want to change in her life, her naturally plumper figure included.

She took the time off from showbiz / music to enjoy her pregnancy and the first 6 months of motherhood, and she’s now out in the spotlight again because she has a new album to promote. Starving herself to shed the weight she gained while pregnant was probably last on her list of priorities, in between mommy time, family time, and recording sessions.

Speaking to Heat about Hopkins’ comments, Kelly shows that she can be gracious and amazing even at those times when few other women could keep their cool. She also gets major points for doing that while talking about someone she didn’t even know from before.

“She's tweeted something nasty about me? That's because she doesn't know me. I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will,” she says. “I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family - I don't seek out any other acceptance.”
