The cases of stars that cross over from music to film and the other way around are so many that, most often than not, they are not even aware that the results of their hard work are catastrophic, and they continue pursuing their newly-found career. Singer Kelly Clarkson, though, comes to make a difference, and says that she knows her acting is horrible, while also promising fans she will never do it again.

Back in 2003, fresh out of “American Idol,” the popular talent competition that put her on the map, Kelly starred in a romantic comedy called “From Justin to Kelly.” While the flick somehow managed to pass unnoticed by critics – in the sense that it was a huge flop – fans of the rising star did see it and, from what Kelly is saying now, they were more than just a bit disappointed in her for doing it. It won’t happen again, though, Kelly assures them.

“Oh it was a movie I had to do, and it was so horrible. Whoever won [‘American Idol’] had to do it. I tried to get out of it legally, because I have no desire to be an actress. My favorite actresses are like Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett and I always hate when I go to movies and I think you just shouldn’t be an actress. It was horrible. I am a horrible actress.” Kelly explains in a recent interview.

Other than the fact that she was contractually bound to make the flick, Kelly reveals, there was also the issue of the people on set who simply would not tell her when she did something wrong in front of the camera. As such, even if she were a better actress, she still could not have improved her technique, since everybody was singing her praises. This is precisely why she’ll stick to what she knows best, namely singing and making videos, Kelly underlines for her fans.

“Whenever it’s like a musical, or a video, I do fine. But ugh – it was horrible. I hated every minute of it. Everyone on the set will tell you that I was nice, I was lovely to work with… I just hated it. I will never be an actress. Ever. That’s what I’m saying.” Kelly further explains.

At the end of January, Kelly’s first single off her brand new album, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” jumped more than 90 positions on the Billboard singles chart, thus setting a new world record and taking down Britney Spears with “Womanizer.”
