Kelly Clarkson delivers surprise, safe for work cover of Rihanna's “Better Have My Money”

Rihanna released “Better Have My Money” earlier this year, and fans were pleased to hear new music from her even though its content was as such as to not allow for airplay without massive bleeping out.

If you ever wished there’d be a PG version of the track, Kelly Clarkson’s got you covered. The original American Idol hit up BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge the other day, and brought with her 2 backup singers and a pianist.

She also brought a surprise cover of the hit Rihanna single, which turned out to be completely safe for work because she replaced the B-word Rihanna repeats at nauseam with “y’all.” She also toned down the aggressiveness of the track and gave it a more R&B feel.

Then again, Kelly has the range to pull off this kind of stunt, so with this, she managed to take Rihanna’s catchy track and turn it into something completely different and just as cool.

You can listen to Kelly’s version below; the second video available at the end of the article is the original song, as performed live by the Barbadian beauty. Enjoy!
