Kellan Lutz might have a soft spot for lobsters and crabs, but this does not mean that he does not care about other animals as well. Recently, the actor took a one-day break from filming “Hercules: The Legend Begins,” and used the time to visit a no-kill animal shelter in Bulgaria.

Later, he posted a video on YouTube describing the work of the people at this animal sanctuary, and urging fans to get involved and support them. The video is available below.

“After seeing the many stray dogs in Bulgaria, myself and the cast of 'Hercules' couldn’t stand by and not do something to help Animal Rescue Sofia. Please watch and share, team. Every action we take, no matter how small, helps in the greater good,” the actor stressed.

Ecorazzi tells us that this no-kill animal sanctuary in Bulgaria is presently home to about 500 dogs, none of which will ever be put to sleep. Thus, the pooches will either spend the rest of their lives at this facility, or will hopefully be adopted by loving families.

The folks at the shelter also spay and neuter pets in Sofia in an attempt to help solve the city's pet overpopulation problem. What's more, they do it for free.

Animal Rescue Sofia is presently looking to move its operation to a farm, but doesn't have enough money to buy it. Hence, the organization is asking people who keep animals close at heart to lend them a helping hand.

Those wishing to get involved and donate need only check out the official website for Animal Rescue Sofia.
