“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will mark not just Johnny Depp’s fifth turn as the whacky but ultimately lovable and charming Captain Jack Sparrow, but also the third time he stars opposite Keith Richards as father and son in the franchise.

The Daily Mail reports that the Rolling Stones rocker has already agreed to reprise his role as Cpt. Sparrow’s father, for the film that will be out sometime in 2016.

However, this being the Daily Mail and all, the report is best taken with a grain of salt.

“After months of talks, Keith has signed on to rejoin Johnny Depp in this fifth Pirates film. Cameras are scheduled to start rolling in October,” says an insider familiar with the details of the production. That would be October next year, by the way.

The tab also says that the role of the villain, known as Captain Brand, will probably go to Oscar-winning actor (and one of my personal favorites) Christoph Waltz.

We’ve all seen the kind of goods this guy can deliver when it comes to villains (in “Inglourious Basterds” from Quentin Tarantino, for instance) so it would definitely be amazing to have him on board the “Pirates.”
