When you're such a huge celebrity as Keira Knightley is, keeping a long-term relationship is pretty difficult. If that relationship is with a guy less famous than you, then it's doomed to fail almost from the beginning. At least, that's how the word goes...
A couple of days ago, a source told the British press that the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star was secretly engaged to her boyfriend and 'Pride and Prejudice' co-star Rupert Friend. The rumor was started by 'News of the World' who had a spy inside Lindsay Lohan's London party and who heard Keira tell her friends that they got engaged.
'She looked radiant and seemed to want the world to know that she and Rupert had got engaged. Keira couldn't stop giggling.[...] Even her girlfriends referred to [Rupert] as her future husband', the newspaper wrote, quoting the inside source.
However, the couple are in no way heading towards a marriage in Italy next summer, but rather towards Splitsville... with the speed of light, according to reports in the media. Sources say that Rupert is having serious problems adjusting to his part as second best on Keira's list of priorities. Plus, his jealousy towards Orlando Bloom, with whom Knightley is now shooting for the third installment of the 'Pirates' series, is taking a toll on their until now perfect romance.
A source told the 'Mirror' that Friend keeps telling Keira that she doesn't pay him enough attention and that she spends too much time on the set, at work. Apparently, she tried her best to keep the relationship strong, but she can no longer take any more scenes in bars and long hours of heated discussions and is already considering calling it quits.
'It annoyed Keira as she doesn't like her personal life spilling over into her work. She's very professional and won't let anyone mess that up', the insider explained. Currently, the two lovers are said to talk through their issues and see whether staying together as a couple is still worth it or not.
