The easiest way to keep yourself up-to-date regarding news around the world is by getting a third-party application on your mobile phone. Everyone carries a handset these days, either a more sophisticated one or just a simple, Java-compatible device. WildPalm offers Symbian smartphones an interesting application that will feed their needed news right on the device they are carrying. HeadLine RSS Reader is fully compatible with the Symbian smartphone Series 60 3rd Edition, but also the Series 60 1st / 2nd Edition. It can easily be installed over-the-air or by synchronizing your phone with the PC. The application requires an Internet connection until all the news headlines are updated, but you will be able to read it without any network connection.

HeadLine RSS Reader can also be used to read Blogger posts and features an automatic integration with your phone's browser (Opera, NetFront, i.e.). Furthermore, you will be able to customize the way you want to see the feeds by changing the colors and adding shaded effects. The latest version of the software also supports custom TrueType fonts, but they're only available for Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphones.

HeadLine RSS Reader benefits from a compressed-news support, which saves up to 80% of the network usage. That will greatly reduce your phone bill. Another interesting feature included in the application is called RSS Enclosure and it supports attachment downloading and PodCasts. The software features a reduced feed bandwidth, as the application won't download feeds if they have not been updated.

HeadLine RSS Reader also has an optional 'Data Usage' meter, which is very useful. The latest version also features a trial option, which can be downloaded and used for free for a limited period. Also, it boasts support for Arabic & Hebrew and other International RSS feeds. The full version of the software can be bought for 12.99 EUR.
Note: You can easily follow my guides by subscribing to the RSS feed.
