Semi-Restore requires a bit of Terminal tinkering, a GUI version is in the works

Installing lots of jailbreak tweaks might cause your device to act up, which means that sooner or later you’ll need a restore. But restoring messes up your jailbreak, so if you don’t want to lose your hack, now "there’s an app for that."

Semi-Restore by CoolStar is a new hack which enables you to restore your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch to a stock iOS version without throwing away your jailbreak.

You have every right to think that sounds impossible, heck people have been crying for such a tool since the first jailbreak tools emerged, but CoolStar assures us it’s the real deal.

Currently, the Semi-Restore tool requires that you have OpenSSH and APT 0.7 Strict installed from Cydia. You’ll also need to know your way around Terminal (or any another SSH client).

The developers promise to have a GUI version and a USB-ready build in the future. For now, you’re stuck with the Terminal method.
