Using a budget management application

Tracking daily expenses, either personal or business-related, allows you to better manage your budget and never lose money because of bad management. Expenses 2.0, developed by SymbianGuru, can automatically or manually track expenses, thus optimizing your budget. The money management application is compatible with all S60 devices including 3rd Edition smartphones. Expenses 2.0 can also be useful as a money-tracking app that will show you where exactly your money goes with detailed expense reports at any time.

After installing and opening the software, you will be invited to enter a password that will make the application usable only by you or those who know the password. The next empty window that will be displayed can be populated by clicking on the "Options" tab. You will be able choose the type of expense (Grocery, Food, Entertainment, Healthcare, Advertising, Travelling, Taxi), Category (Business, Personal), Currency (Euro, US Dollar or British pounds), Type of payment (Cash, Credit card, Bank Account or Check), Amount and Date. You can edit or delete any of the expenses, mark or unmark, and even export them.

The expenses can be exported to the phone memory or memory card. The files created can be transferred to any PC through Bluetooth, cable or IrDA, and then opened on the machine with the help of a Sheet program like MS Excel. The Settings feature offers you the possibility to change some options: Preferences, Expense types, Currencies and Payment types. The reports of the application can show you how much you spend by using your credit card and how much you paid with cash or how much you usually spend on Healthcare or other category.
Expenses 2.0 can be bought for a mere 9.99 USD, but a 10-day full-featured trial is also available for download. Note: You can easily follow my daily guides by subscribing to the RSS feed.
