Keep You Fingers Crossed for Region-Free Gears of War

PlayStation imports may be illegal but game imports are not. So, dry your eyes all you Austrian and European Gears of War fans because Epics' third-person shooter is region-free.

If we are to believe a rumor appeared on Kotaku, we would realize
that we could get a copy of Gears of War much sooner than expected, and a lot cheaper too. But first, we would have to own an Xbox 360 as the game was developed exclusively for the Microsoft platform.

Gears of War was released on November 7 in North America but only some lucky retailers got a few copies of the game. The US nationwide release is planned for November 12, and the European release for November 17 while Aussies will get their hands on the game on November 23rd. But none of these dates will matter anymore if the region-free rumor is true.

Previously, Epic Games manager, Preston Thorne, declared that they have pushed the Xbox 360 limits with this release, and apparently, this statement is true as the game managed to get great review scores on all gaming websites. Softpedia hasn't reviewed the game yet, but be on the lookout for a Gears of War review soon.
