14 DAY TRIAL // The “Keep Calm and Play the Tumblr Dating Game” scam is making the rounds again on Tumblr, trying to dupe unsuspecting customers into signing up for an affiliate marketing scheme that can earn the fraudsters a decent amount of money.
GFI came across a couple of examples in which potential victims are requested to access the “Tumblr Dating Game,” create an account with the “tumblrdatinggame,” and search for other users in their area. Apparently, the completion of these steps can lead to a profit.
Internauts are advised to avoid fulfilling the requests made in such spam campaigns.
The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter on which site they’re served on and it doesn’t matter what name the plots rely on for their success. In the end, only the cybercrooks get something out of the deal.
