Kedron has just received the green flag from FCC and will replace the current "Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG" found in actual Centrino laptops. Kedron will receive the number "4965" and when it debuts it will be available in two forms - an 802.11n-capable "AGN" model and a vanilla "AG" version that supports 802.11a/b/g only. INTEL will integrate it into the Santa Rosa Platform along with Robson cache technology and the upcoming T7xxx 800 FSB Merom line.

Next the Crestline chipset will be introduced as "Mobile 965 GM" and "Mobile 965 PM (without graphics). With this mass technology update INTEL plans to offer a completely professional mobile solution. And the news does not stop here since INTEL has also planned to introduce an optional "1965HSD" chipset with the launch of the platform. The 1965 is Intel's first (3G) WWAN chip and will probably have support for HSDPA broadband services offered by mobile phones network providers.

With all this taken into account, it seems that INTEL has cooked up a nice plan for its upcoming notebook line. And since the story is about INTEL, we can be sure of 2 things. It is clear that Santa Rosa will come out at the official launch date but I'm not that sure about what it will contain, as INTEL has proven several times that it has an amazing flexibility when transforming a roadmap into an actual product.
