Singer Ke$ha has recently been featured in the news more in regards to her private life than she has been for her music. After entering rehab at the beginning of the month for eating disorders, the singer is now reaching out to her fans to thank them for their support.

Although Ke$ha is at the moment cut off from using social media, she asked one of her friends to post on the official Twitter account a message to thank her fans for their continued support.

“This is Ke$ha's friend. She asked me to tweet an update for her because she doesn't have access to Twitter right now. she says "THANK YOU. SOOO MUCH. I'm overwhelmed to tears by all of the love, letters, and support!! I'll be back soon and better than ever,"” read the tweet.

The singer is still in rehab, after she willingly checked herself on January 3 to tackle issues related to her bulimia and anorexia. She was joined a week later by her mother, who decided to seek help for “post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Pebe Sebert, Ke$ha's mother, was quoted as saying that she feared for her daughter's life, after the music industry forced her to lose weight and changed her eating habits.

Both Ke$ha and her mother blamed her producer for her current state, saying that he forced her to lose weight to conform to music industry standards.

In an recent interview, Ke$ha's mom said “I've watched my beautiful, self-confident, brilliant daughter be berated and ridiculed for her looks and weight to the point that she almost died. … The doctors toled me her blood pressure and sodium levels were so low, they'd never seen it that low except with someone who'd had a heart attack or a stroke. They said it was a miracle she hadn't already dropped dead on stage.”

In a different tweet, Ke$ha thanked her fans also for their interest in her latest single, “Timber,” which still sits on top of the Billboard 100. “She can't believe timber is still number one! PARTY ON!!!!,” the message from her friend revealed.
