They were supposed to enter mass production near the end of 2013

The Kaveri accelerated processing unit platform is one part of AMD's roadmap that has yet to grace us with its presence.

Unlike Richland (desktop), Kabini (laptop) and Temash (tablet), which came out weeks ago, Kaveri was only supposed to come out later this year.

This won't happen though, according to a Digitimes rumor. Instead of releasing Kaveri APUs near the end of 2013, AMD will wait until February 2014.

And that's the time frame for the start of volume production, meaning that actual consumer availability won't ramp up before the second quarter of next year.

Quite a bit of time for us to wait for the Steamroller architecture, and the GCN graphics with Heterogeneous System Architecture support.

After Kaveri, AMD will prepare Beema and Nolan in late 2014 and 2015, respectively.
