At the Grammy Awards 2010, the predominant note was one of eccentricity, with most stars choosing outfits that shocked and played on unlikely elements. Of the few who kept it simple, but still managed to look equally amazing, was also singer Katy Perry who continued her line of fashion hits with this silver, sparkly creation she wore to the Grammys 2010 EMI party, as JustJared can confirm.

Famous for her hourglass silhouette and especially for her ability to bring back retro glamour, Katy did not disappoint: for the EMI Grammy party, she chose this low-cut siren gown that sparkled and, useless to say, made the best of her strongest suits. The silvery dress ended in a gold train, and was matched with a gold Judith Leiber clutch and, of course, Katy’s best accessory: an engagement ring and the fiancé himself, Russell Brand.

Speaking with the media on the red carpet, Katy revealed she wasn’t really taken by surprise by Brand’s proposal over the winter holidays, as she had seen about it on the Internet. Somewhat guiltily, the star admitted to still being in the habit of Googling herself, which is how she came to learn that Russell had been out shopping for an engagement ring in London, because it was at the top of Google alerts.

Since the cat is out of the bag now, Katy proudly showed her engagement ring while posing for pictures on the red carpet, but would not peep a sound on a wedding date or whether they have any immediate plans in this sense. Instead, she gazed lovingly in Brand’s eyes, once more confirming that she had, indeed, found the man of her dreams, the one who, as she put it in an older interview, knows when to have fun and when to tell her it’s time she got to working.

“I’m excited to find a partner who can just be my teammate. And there’s got to be respect. For me, that’s hard because it’s easy for me to steamroll guys. I need a man who tells me the party’s over, that it’s time to go home, because [we] have to work in the morning,” Perry was saying for one of the most recent issued of Glamour magazine, out shortly after she confirmed on Twitter the engagement to Russell Brand.
