After the last Facebook scam declared Chuck Norris as being dead, similar phony messages advertise the “most wanted videos” and an adult homemade tape that features Katy Perry and Russell Brand.

Avira’s Data Security Expert Sorin Mustaca reveals that just like in the Chuck Norris scam, these other variants are also designed to dupe the user into installing a so-called plug-in that’s needed to view the videos, which the crooks label as Youtube Premium content.

Once the malicious extension is installed, it accesses the victim’s Facebook account and posts messages on his wall and on the ones of his contacts.

Similar to what we saw yesterday, these scams also end with a fake survey that promises tons of fabulous prizes in return for a few clicks and some information.

Users who took the bait are advised to check the browser’s settings and immediately remove the rogue extension.
