Just last month, countless reports were saying that Robert Pattinson, fresh off his breakup from Kristen Stewart, had turned for solace to Katy Perry, who was a friend of both. Katy herself is now confirming this in her new interview with Elle Magazine.

Celebrity “pairings” are a dime a dozen these days and, most often than not, reports of a new hot couple turn out to be just unfounded rumors.

Many assumed that the same also applied to Katy and Robert, even though they were once photographed together at a concert and were even said to have crashed a wedding party.

Katy doesn’t say which was the exact nature of her relationship with the “Twilight” heartthrob, but she does mention that she sent a text to his ex girl to make sure she didn’t believe everything the tabloids and celebrity blogs were saying.

“I sent her a text message saying: ‘I know you’ve seen all this stuff but you know I would never disrespect you. I’m not that person. I’m just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of [breasts]’,” Katy reveals for Elle.

Many celebrity pundits believe this statement is actually “dissing” Kristen, though we don’t see it that way.

In the same Elle interview, Katy also talks about her on-and-off best friend Rihanna, saying that she loves her but, in the next sentence, adding that, “my days of celebrity saving are over.”

Just as interesting is her statement on her beau John Mayer, with whom she reconciled just recently after a second breakup.

Apparently, it was her realization that she was losing him that got her thinking about getting him back.

“He pulled away. That was a big hello for me. I realized I could lose the person I loved and I had to deal with some things, issues I think a lot of women have. You can be strong in one aspect of your life but submissive in another,” Katy explains.
