All Katy Perry wanted to do was have a nice, long, quiet walk on the beach in Australia but she never counted on the local paparazzi showing up and giving her grief. The singer was left struggling to escape the nosy photographers who, according to her, never let up and taunted her constantly.

Katy stopped in Sydney, Australia, over the weekend to promote her Prismatic Tour but it wasn't just sunshine and butterflies. The “Roar” singer claims that she felt invaded by the army of paparazzi who followed her around and refused to go away when she asked them nicely on several occasions.

Katy blasts pushy paparazzi on her Twitter account

Full of contempt and ire, Katy then turned to her millions of followers on social media to expose her abuse. On a note posted on Twitter, Katy blasted her pursuers, “Australian PRESS: you should be ashamed of you paparazzi & tabloid culture. Your paparazzi have no respect, no integrity, no character. NO HUMANITY (sic).”

As you can see, these are pretty serious accusations, but what odes Katy have to say to support such claims? She details, “I was stalked by many grown men today as I tried t take a quiet walk to the beach. These men would not stop as I pleaded over & over to let me have my space.”

It seems that the nosy paps laughed in her face when she asked them to let her be and just kept on shooting her. In fact, they taunted her with a proposition: they would leave her alone if she only gave them a bikini shot.

Katy did not hesitate to call them all perverts on Twitter and to point out that she would never make a deal with paparazzi, nor would she befriend anyone who condones this kind of behavior.

Katy even posted photos of the paparazzi stalking her

To complete her attack on the local paps, Katy posted a couple of photos of the people who were following her, captioning the photos with calling the men stalkers. She then finished with a warning to the local papers that anyone who bought a photo of her in a bikini from these old men would be going “against [her] will.”

While Katy's story is sad, she didn't go about it in a good way. Photographing paparazzi has never proven to be a successful tactic in the past as it's failed to bring any results. Taking a tone as if you're the all-mighty master of the Internet is also not very helpful. God forbid you should go against Katy's will!

Perry needs to understand that being famous comes with perks but also with some bad sides. Being harassed by the media seems to be one of those. Of course, that doesn't mean that they are allowed to act so badly towards her, but taking on a stance that everyone should just do what you say is never a good idea.

Fans had mixed reactions to Katy's overreaction, but most were supportive of her blasting of Australian photographers. Story developing.
