The people have spoken: Katy Perry should be Wonder Woman. A feature film on the female superhero has been in production limbo for many years now and, while there’s still no word on whether it’s going to happen, fans know how they’d like to see as the lead.

A while back, Megan Fox was believed to be favorite in the race to play Wonder Woman. She remains among the top positions, but has been replaced by another star who looks even better in latex: pop singer Katy Perry.

A recent poll conducted by Total Sci-Fi Online on its readers has established Perry as the perfect woman to be the ultimate woman, Wonder Woman. Fox is up next, at a distance of just 1%.

“Katy Perry would be the first choice as a new Wonder Woman, according to our recent readers’ poll. The pop star behind such hits as ‘I Kissed a Girl’ and ‘Hot n Cold’ won 20% of the votes, just ahead of Megan Fox, who chalked up 19%,” the e-zine says.

“A movie version of DC’s Wonder Woman has been in development hell for years now, with everyone from Jessica Biel to Beyonce Knowles linked to the superpowered Amazon princess at some point,” Total Sci-Fi also notes.

“Perhaps pop star Perry could be the key ingredient to finally getting a new Wonder Woman movie off the ground. Though we’re left asking what next – Russell Brand as Superman? Well, his trousers are certainly tight enough…” the e-zine jokes.

Throughout the years, several other stars have been linked to playing Wonder Woman on the big screen but two of them are notably absent from the poll: Jessica Biel and Beyonce Knowles.

Third in the poll came Morena Baccarin with 18% of the votes and Gemma Arterton, who already has some experience with super-powers and superheroes, having starred in “Clash of the Titans” and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” with 12%.

Angelina Jolie also got 12% of the readers votes, while Anne Hathaway only 8% and Karen Gillan 7%.
