Katy Perry Rips into Former Classmate, Gets Seriously Burned

Fresh off her appearance at the 2010 Video Music Awards, Katy Perry paid a special visit to her former high school, the Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara, CA, where she also performed.

In the middle of her set, she noticed one of her former classmates and proceeded to thrash him by calling him a sucker (in more or less words) for not wanting to go out with her.

TMZ has video of the entire thing, showing Katy stripping to one of her trademark latex dresses and pointing to someone in the crowd, asking “Is that Shane Lopes?”

“You never wanted to date me... you really chose well, honey. What’s up now, playa?” the singer goes on to say, accompanied by boos from the crowd (directed to Shane, not Katy).

As if to deliver the final blow, Katy then goes on to say that the next song is for the guy who wouldn’t date her in high school – an apparently generous thing, considering what she’d just said.

Perry goes on to sing her hit “Ur So Gay” which may be many things, but kind or generous it is not. As it happens, the sarcasm is lost on Shane Lopes.

TMZ tracked down Lopes and talked to him about what it was like to have Katy Perry calling out his name in front of so many people. Apparently, he doesn’t even know what brought all this on.

“Not everybody wants to date Katy Perry – despite what she may think – because the dude who was the target of Katy’s ‘look at me now’ moment at her concert this week tells us... he doesn’t regret a thing,” TMZ writes.

“We just spoke to Lopes – who told us he ‘couldn’t believe it’ when Katy spotted him in the crowd at Dos Pueblos High School... but claims she ‘exaggerated’ the whole dating situation,” the same media outlet informs.

“Lopes adds that Perry was ‘just trying to embarrass’ him – because he says they ‘never had any problems’ during their days at DPHS,” TMZ adds.

Moreover, Lopes doesn’t regret a thing about how his life turned out: he’s engaged to his high school sweetheart and says he couldn’t have made a better choice.

“We don’t blame the dude – his fiancée is pretty damn hot,” TMZ writes after securing a photo of the girl.
