Consider the hostilities open, because Katy Perry just picked up Taylor Swift's gauntlet and threw it right back in her face! The “Roar” singer was accused of some misdoings and backstabbing by fellow singer Taylor swift, albeit indirectly, but she's now sharpening her own knives, readying for the media battle that is going to follow.

Taylor mentioned in her recent Rolling Stone interview that “someone from the industry” has been a fake friend to her and that she did not hesitate to stab her in the back when she had the chance. Swift, who made a name for herself for telling of ex-boyfriends in her song, sang like a canary when it was time to reveal the bad blood.

Taylor Swift makes references that point out Katy Perry dissed her, but she doesn't name names

She reveals that the certain musician actually stole some of her crew when she was in concert. “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it.”

Insiders from the industry confirmed that last year, Katy was responsible for taking some of Taylor's back-up dancers while she was on tour, convincing them to join her team. This left Taylor in the very delicate situation of having to fill some serious gaps on stage.

Katy strikes back – on Twitter

Now, Katy is refusing to go down without a fight and basically called out Taylor for lying in her interview. On her Twitter page, Perry makes a “Mean Girls” reference “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing ...”

For those that haven't seen the movie “Mean Girls,” Regina George is a shrewd and manipulative popular girl, played very convincingly by Rachel McAdams. The parallels with Taylor Swift are clear in this case.

The bad blood between the two singers is said to go back years, since both of them dated John Mayer at different points in time. But while Taylor decided to address their failed relationship in a scathing song called “Dear John,” Katy chose to end their two-year relationship that went on and off, as quietly and discreetly as possible.

Swift has taken her anger against Perry to a new level and is preparing to release a scathing song about her betrayal which she is called “Bad Blood.” People are dying to hear the lyrics, but we're more interested in the video. If Swift is as angry as she claims, she's going to be mocking Perry big time.

Also, you can count that Perry won't remain silent and will probably dedicate a song to Taylor as well. Let the musical cat fighting begin!
