14 DAY TRIAL // Most women drown their sorrows after being cheated on by their boyfriends in a large bowl of ice cream or an entire bar of chocolate, or perhaps a shopping trip and a night out. Then again, Katy Perry is no regular woman.
The pop star has just released the video for her latest single, “Part of Me,” the track she is believed to have penned after she decided to put an end to her marriage to Russell Brand.
It shows Katy as a small-town girl who finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her with one of his office colleagues, and decides to enlist in the Marines to get away from all the heartbreak.
The clip also includes beautiful shots of fellow female Marines and their training, but also sequences of combat.
All in all, it's an excellent companion for the track, which is, before anything, a cry of independence.
