14 DAY TRIAL // A new rumor is whizzing around the allegedly former couple Katy Perry and John Mayer. These two have yet to confirm their split, but they haven't been seen together since the first breakup reports came out. Now, there is word that Katy might have stumbled onto one of Mayer's indiscretions and she promptly showed him the door.
The word comes from Page Six, that claims that the breakup took place when Katy Perry accidentally stumbled across some love messages on Mayer's phone from some random girl. Not caring very much about being played for a fool, Katy did not hesitate to cut all ties, despite the fact that the media had them heading for a summer wedding.
There is some credibility to those rumors, since John Mayer has made a name for himself as quite the lady charmer, but he is not known for sticking around too long after the deed is done. Over the past ten years, he's been involved with famous women the likes of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift.
They've all been left broken-hearted after they broke up from him, and he made a point out of giving out too many details of his relationships to the press, which earned him a notoriety as the “kiss-and-tell” type of ex-boyfriend.
Initial reports claimed that the split was “amicable” and had us believing that they remained the best of friends, being very mature about the whole thing that had nothing to do with them and everything with Perry's very busy work schedule that involved preparations for her upcoming “Prismatic World Tour.”
Yesterday was the day that both the singers stepped out, both alone, but whereas Katy looked distressed and sad, Mayer seemed carefree and even went on to enjoy a lovely evening at the Blue Note in Greenwich Village, posting about it on social media.
This could have been his way of telling Perry that he wasn't feeling any regret over the split and was fine with his life just the way it was previous to meeting her. For her part, Katy decided on dinner with friends in Los Angeles but looked as if she preferred she was anyplace else than being photographed by paparazzi.
The couple were set to make an appearance on the Late Night Show with Seth Meyers on Thursday, but they bailed out, which only reinforces the rumors that they went their separate ways some time ago.
