14 DAY TRIAL // Katy Perry raises eyebrows this week as she begins dating yet another bad boy, after she just split up for John Mayer some months ago. The “Roar” singer is now being romantically linked with superstar DJ and producer Diplo.
The news is confirmed by the Mirror, which claims that Katy has a knack for picking her men and says that she's “out of the frying pan and into the fire.” You'd think that with a failed marriage and several broken relationship, Katy has learned her lesson, but you'd be wrong, she's barking up the same tree.
The reason why her friends are worried about her is because Diplo is said to have a large female fan base, and he's not known as the type who would pass out on some attention from the opposite gender. Since DJs are the new rock stars, it's easy to see how Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, has the ladies chasing him around town.
The first time the 29-year-old singer and the 35-year-old DJ were spotted together was at the Coachella Music Festival, and things soon picked up, as the couple was seen out together again this weekend in New York, for a dinner at the Marlton Hotel.
After a hearty meal, the duo went straight to the Skylight club for the after-party and then for the after-after-party at the Up & Down nightspot. The last anyone saw of the them was sometime around 2 a.m., when they were spotted leaving in the same car home.
“Diplo always has girls throwing themselves at him, and it’s fair to say he has his fun partying with them,” explains one of Katy's friends, adding, “But he’s also got a three-year-old son with his on-off girlfriend that he doesn’t see that often as he’s on tour a lot.”
The same friend reveals that Diplo “also had a public fallout with his other ex, MIA, who he dated for five years, so Katy’s friends are worried she could end up getting hurt – again – by a guy who’s seen as a bit of a lothario.”
Diplo himself is quoted as saying that “I don’t want to have to be responsible for two other people. I can’t even be responsible for myself,” hinting that he's not to type to be tied down. Which is pretty much the same attitude that John Mayer had, another man famous for getting his fair share of female conquests.
This year's horoscope looks bleak for Katy Perry, as there is more heartbreak foreseen in her future. Fans would probably have wanted her to hook up with friend Robert Pattinson, as the press has been speculating for a while now.
