Towards the end of 2013, Katy Perry's album “Prism” was labeled a biohazard in Australia due to the fact that its deluxe version sold with a small packet of flower seeds.

Looking to prove that, contrary to what some might say, she does care about the environment and is very much preoccupied about how her actions impact on natural ecosystems, the 29-year-old artist has recently bought electric cars for each of her assistants.

Media reports say that, all in all, Katy Perry had to part with some £300,000 (€358,757 / $499,050) to secure environmentally friendly vehicles for a select few of her staff.

The money served to buy five Fisker Karmas, i.e. 4-door sports sedans, one for each of the five people the singer entrusts to handle her working agenda.

The five assistants that received these Fisker Karmas are supposed to use the vehicles while running errands on behalf of the musician, Daily Mail tells us.

By using these vehicles instead of regular ones, they will not pollute the environment while helping Katy Perry stay on top of her game and manage her daily agenda.

By extension, the singer will be able to sleep at night knowing that her career in music does not contribute to global warming and climate change.

This is because, unlike regular cars, which are guilty of releasing noteworthy amounts of greenhouse gas emissions into our planet's atmosphere, electric vehicles have a fairly small ecological footprint.

According to a friend of the artist, the 29-year-old musician is no big fan of smog. Besides, it would appear that, if presented with the opportunity, she is more than willing to try to help limit pollution in urban areas.

“They are completely electric and top of the range in car luxury but she hates the smog in the air in LA,” the unnamed source said in a statement concerning Katy Perry's buying the five Fisker Karmas.

“In total she spent over half a million dollars on the cars and now her conscience is clean,” the artist's friend went on to say.

Just for the record, it must be said that, although reducing pollution was the first thing on Katy Perry's mind when she bought the electric vehicles for her assistants, making sure that her assistants got the best possible eco-friendly rides was also an issue.

Thus, the Fisker Karma is not just any sports sedan, but a luxury one. In fact, this four-wheeler has recently been named the Luxury Car of The Year by Top Gear Magazine.
